March 23, Friday, Day 172

Eastbank Campground, Lake Seminole, GA.

A Green Heron stopped by our campsite; such a beautiful bird! The last one we saw (3-15) kept its neck hunched; this one was extended. The blue head crest is quite a sight!

At the same time a Red Rat Snake was swimming nearby. They are not venomous. In fact, they don’t even have fangs; they are constrictors. They are good to have around to keep the rodents down.  And, their skin is quite beautiful!

Meanwhile, Penny worked her magic on the new mural:

After sunset and a wonderful dinner, we projected the outlines of the Live Oaks over the background she had prepared:

We worked until 11PM tracing the trunks. The next steps will be more fun as the composition takes shape.

My Zags lost their Sweet Sixteen game to Florida State last night. One of our starters became injured in practice; he couldn’t play in the game! The Zags’ bench wasn’t very deep and the remaining guys were trying too hard to compensate for his absence. I listened until the bitter end, about 12:30 this morning. Bummer! ….Next year!
